Sachin Gift BMW Car to Saina Nehwal

Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar who called GOD OF CRICKET, has gifted a brand new BMW Car to India's most successful Badminton Player Saina Nehwal at function in Sunday Night in Hyderabad.  

Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar arrived at Hyderabad for on-going Test Cricket Match against New Zealand starting from Aug-23, gift a brand new BMW Car to Saina Nehwal, who recently won Bronze Medal in the London Olympic. The New BMW Car presented by Sachin's close friend & former Andhra Ranji captain V. Chamundeswaranath, who became the first ever Indian Badminton player to win Olympic Medal.

"I am very happy to receive the second car from the god of cricket,  Said Saina Nehwal.

"I dream of being a Olympic champion at the age of 9...It is unbelievable to have won the medal. I am so happy. I should thank Gopi sir for making it possible. He really worked hard with me for many years. Said Saina Nehwal.

"Myself winning the first medal will really change a lot of things for badminton in India and I am sure we shall have lot more medals in future. I hope badminton becomes one of the most popular games, though may not be like cricket, in our country," Said Saina Nehwal.

"I am glad to congratulate Saina and Gopi. This medal means a lot for India and it has not come without hard work, dedication, focus and vision. I congratulate you for making us all feel proud," Said Sachin Tendulkar.

BMW to launch Mini in India at starting price of Rs 25 lakh. At a time car sales are sliding, luxury car maker BMW Cars is set to launch the British marque Mini in India at a starting price of Rs 25 lakh. The German car maker will start importing the iconic small car within the next two months and open two flagship dealerships, in Delhi and Mumbai. BMW will bring in the entire range of the Mini - comprising its popular variants Cooper, Countryman, Club door and the Cabrio. The top-end Club man is likely to cost around Rs 30 lakh and come with a complete sports package and accessories. 

 

The Mini is among the original British cars that heralded a new era in motoring in the 1960s, with its space-saving front wheel-drive layout. Its smooth and sporty retro design has influenced a generation of car makers ever since. The best-selling Suzuki Swift, for instance, carries forward the same design philosophy. But the original Mini continues to sell in large numbers. Clocking more than 2.34 lakh units a year worldwide, it sells the highest in the US, followed by Britain, Germany and Japan.

"The Mini comes to India finally after years of hectic feasibility and surveys," BMW India President Andreas Schaaf told ET, adding the company will showcase the car in the Auto Expo in January 2012.
