The countdown to Commonwealth Games 2010 has begun and the sports extravaganza is only 10 days away. The national capital of India - Delhi is geared up to host the most expensive Commonwealth Games in history. For this 12 days long festival, the authorities in capital have formulated a special traffic plan for swift movement of athletes and officials during CWG.

Here are some highlights of Commonwealth Games 2010 traffic plan:

> Dedicated Games Lane have been reserved on all important routes connecting international and domestic airports to the Games Village.

> The Games Lane network connects all Commonwealth Games venues as well as Games Family Hotels and the Games Village.

> The CWG Games Lane comprise of an extended stretch of 105 kilometers dedicated to the games, out of Delhi's 450 kilometers arterial road space.

> Some of the roads are exclusively reserved for Commonwealth Games sports persons and delegates.

> Games Lane Identification - Blue patches called reserve lanes situated at the extreme right on most roads (or extreme left depending on a particular road).

> Time of Operation will be notified on daily basis depending on the schedule of events.

> The 5 tier Commonwealth Games Transport System will be applicable on Games Lane

> Duration of Games Lane System - September 23, 2010 to October 14, 2010.

> Relaxations : Daily commuters can use the games lane on normal basis till the announcement of players or teams arrival by traffic personnel.

> Punishment : A fine of Rs 2000/- or confiscation of vehicle and driving licenses.
