Reva holds reputation as India's first electric car. Mitsubishi E-car
Japanese car manufacturer Mitsubishi Motors is also geared up for India's upcoming automobile market making its electric car. Planned to be powered by lithium-ion batteries that can be charged up to 80 per cent in 30 minutes with a special charging system, the Mitsubshi e-car would have a motor placed at the back of the car.

E - Nano
Carrying the tag of world's cheapest car, Tata Nano is all set to set top transmit a high voltage spark in electric car market also. The E-Nano will come in association with Norwegian electric car specialist Miljoebil Grenland. Expected to be launched in 2010, E-Nano rides high on the expectation of customers after a huge success of Tata Nano.
India's largest cycle manufacturer - Hero motors is also planning to enter the electric car segment with their new car. Company has plans to revolutionize the electric car segment by replacing the use of conventional batteries with capacitors for instant charging. The car is expected to be launched by 2013.
